July marks the halfway point of this year, making it the perfect time to hit the reset button. Whether you have been distracted, unmotivated, or have not reached your goals for this year yet, a new month is a new start. Use this July to make small changes that will have a huge outcome for the rest of the year.

#1 Pause and Look Back

Before we set new goals for ourselves, we need to reflect back on how far we have come. We need to hit the pause button and acknowledge our achievements that we are proud of. Whether it is improving in a subject you found challenging or starting a new hobby from scratch. Simultaneously, identify the specific habits that held you back such as procrastination or poor time management. In order to start fresh, you need to learn from your mistakes.

#2 Clear the Clutter

Your environment has a major impact on your behaviour. A tidier space allows you to clearly focus and concentrate. Organize your materials by throwing away unnecessary litter and keeping ONLY the items you need. Starting with an immaculate atmosphere helps to make your goals less overwhelming and more achievable.

#3 Build Better Habits

Major changes require small habits you can be consistent with. Instead of trying to change your entire life in one night, try building a routine that you can actually stick to. For instance, aim less screen time, get enough sleep and set a specific time stamp for your productive activities.

#4 Start Small

It’s great to have ambitious and driven targets but it is important that they are attainable. Aim for smaller targets such as finishing one chapter at a time or completing an assignment on schedule as opposed to studying straight for 10 hours. Accomplishing these small milestones will create an incentive for you to keep going.

#5 Make Time for Yourself

You are likely to lose yourself when you are busy chasing your ‘to-do-list’. A little bit of sun and exercise every day can go a long way to prevent a burnout. It is vital that you make time to do the things you love. It could be reading, painting or dancing. What matters is that you keep in touch with the hobbies that make you vibrant and ecstatic.

Ready for a Fresh Start?

A July reset is not intended for you to become a whole different person overnight. It is more about taking intentional steps towards becoming a better version of yourself. Remember, progress and improvement is built one habit, one goal and one day at a time. So, what are you waiting for? Half of the year is still waiting for you – so why not make it your best 6 months?
